Benjamin acts as a Naturalist for both 5th and 8th grades, teaches the Ceramics Specialist class, is a cross-grade Stewardship Mentor, and acts as a “rover” to support many other needs at Manzanita. As a graduate of Manzanita, Benjamin brings a unique perspective to mentoring students. He has comprehensive experience of Nature Connection and community building through various workshops. Benjamin finds teaching at Manzanita to be meaningful through the cultivation of a sense of belonging, gratitude, and curiosity in the students, which brings him great joy. Outside of school hours, he enjoys moving his body through surfing, soccer, yoga, and hiking. He finds a deep sense of belonging and joy by spending time learning about and connecting with the Santa Monica Mountains.
