CHARLIE Arias
CHARLIE@manzanitaschool.org
Charlie brings a rich background in teaching, leadership, and hands-on learning. For the past five years, he has taught high school Biology, where he developed curriculum, led lab-based inquiry, and inspired students through dynamic, experiential lessons. His work with older students gives him a thoughtful perspective on how to nurture foundational skills in younger learners, helping them grow with curiosity and confidence. Charlie’s love of teaching is deeply connected to his lifelong passion for the natural world. Growing up locally, he spent much of his free time exploring the Santa Monica Mountains, and later took road trips across the Southwest with his best friend, a nature photographer, in search of new adventures. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Ecological and Evolutionary Biology from CSUN and has always been inspired by animals and nature. Alongside this passion, Charlie is also a singer-songwriter and composer who enjoys creating and sharing music. He values the role of creativity in education and strives to spark curiosity and excitement in his students. Charlie is also the husband of Dominique, our 3rd grade teacher, and the father of two young children, Ireland and Mateo. He is excited to be joining the Manzanita community alongside his family. We’re thrilled to have Charlie with us and know that his unique blend of experience, creativity, and enthusiasm will enrich our 4th grade classroom this fall.
