Damon acts as the Trunk (6-8) Numeracy teacher, teaches the Tie Dye Specialist class, and is a cross-grade Stewardship Mentor. Damon holds an Associates Degree in Curriculum, with an emphasis on sociology and education. Damon has worked in education for 11 years in a variety of positions, including physical education teacher, boxing and basketball coach, and behavior therapist. He has worked as a Behavior Respite Therapist for students and ASD, and been a teaching assistant at Community Magnet Charter School and Loyola Village Elementary. At his last position with the International Children’s Academy, Damon created a transdisciplinary curriculum for his daily P.E. classes using International Baccalaureate standards as well as organized individual and group projects that supported unique creativity and cooperation. Damon believes in developing positive relationships with students to build their confidence inside the classroom as well on the fields and courts. In addition to teaching, Damon has a great love of dogs, nature, and camping.
