Eric Esby teaches Unit of Study for the high school, supporting the blended Science-Humanities core courses in collaboration with Ms. Jennifer. Eric has a BA in Environmental Science from Bucknell University, an MA in Science Education from the University of Montana, and a Bioscience and Physics teaching credential. He brings over 20 years of experience teaching science, math, and geography to both middle school and high school students at private schools in Los Angeles. In addition to teaching, Mr. Eric will join our administrative team, supporting leadership for the 'Branches' (9th-12th) together with Ms. Ariel. Eric grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania, developing his love for science, nature, and geography while camping throughout the northeast with his dad. Prior to classroom teaching and administrative roles, Eric spent two years working in Outdoor Education, guiding trips on Catalina Island and in the San Bernardino National Forest. Eric is a passionate trail runner, cyclist and open-water swimmer, and is a competitive triathlete. Eric loves to be in the outdoors with his young daughter India. He is especially excited by the opportunities Manzanita gives students to explore and develop their passions.
