Eric acts as the Director of Manzanita’s High School and as a Unit of Study teacher, supporting the blended Science-Humanities core courses in collaboration with Ms. Jennifer. He grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania, where he developed his love for science, nature, and geography while camping throughout the northeast with his dad. Before his classroom and administrative roles, Eric spent two years working in Outdoor Education, guiding trips on Catalina Island and in the San Bernardino National Forest. He brings over 20 years of experience teaching science, math, and geography to both middle school and high school students at private schools in Los Angeles. Eric finds witnessing students test their "edges" on Expeditions and Canyon Days and seeing them learn how to become more resilient adults to be incredibly meaningful. Outside school hours, Eric is a passionate trail runner, cyclist, open-water swimmer, and competitive triathlete, and loves to be outdoors with his young daughter, India.

Educational Background: Eric has a BS in Environmental Science from Bucknell University, an MS in Science Education from Montana State University - Bozeman, and a Bioscience and Physics teaching credential.
