Kylie joins Manzanita as the Assistant Director of the Seeds and Roots Treehorts, taking over those roles as Director in the Fall of 2025. She also serves in a new role as Manzanita's Math Curriculum Specialist. Kylie's journey into education began while living abroad in Spain and Uruguay, where she taught elementary school. These formative experiences sparked her passion for working with children and laid the foundation for her commitment to student-centered education.She brings over eight years of experience in play and project-based education, all of which she gained at The Sycamore School. There, she served in a range of roles—from educational assistant and lead teacher to administrator, and most recently, Head of School. Her leadership is rooted in building meaningful relationships and creating a strong, values-driven community. Kylie is especially passionate about math education, attending multiple national and state-level conferences, including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the California Mathematics Council, and Stanford’s YouCubed program. At her past school, she developed a comprehensive K-5 math scope and sequence that supported students in building number sense, cognitive flexibility, and the confidence to see themselves as capable mathematicians and problem solvers. She also prioritizes social-emotional development and is committed to helping students discover their unique gifts, develop resilience, and gain the skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom. In her free time, Kylie enjoys spending time at the beach, throwing pottery, traveling internationally with her husband, and making memories with their newborn son. Kylie looks forward to spending more time immersed in nature, learning with and from others. 

Educational Background: Kylie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Spanish from Central College.
