Jeremy Sands has been teaching for over 15 years, and is excited to join the high school teaching team. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from San Francisco State University and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham. Much of his teaching experience has been in South Korea where he taught English at the primary, secondary, and college levels, as well as social studies for middle schoolers, mostly in international schools. He has traveled extensively in Asia, and one of his fondest memories is playing ice hockey in Mongolia on an outdoor rink on a brisk -27 degree day. Whenever Sands has free time, he loves to read, listen to music, and watch old movies and NHL hockey. A father of two, he loves to swim, hike, and play the guitar, ukulele, and piano. Sands is thrilled to be joining the Manzanita community and is passionate about connecting with students in meaningful ways, helping them to discover their strengths and gifts, and spark their curiosity and love of life-long learning.
