Stephanie acts as one of Manzanita’s Forest Kindergarten co-teachers. She has a passion for teaching and the outdoors, and her two passions align at Manzanita. In the 2020/2021 school year, Stephanie opened her own business called, "Outdoor Adventures with Steph," where she facilitated outdoor learning with children ages 3-12. Experiences in her program included hiking, learning about local flora and fauna, building self-efficacy skills, rock climbing, and studying wilderness survival skills. From 2016-2020, Stephanie worked at Muse School in Calabasas as an Early Kindergarten Teacher and Outdoor Education Curriculum Coordinator. She values being able to be outdoors and on the land every day, creating ever-deeper connections with nature, and loves hiking up past the corral gates to explore Solo Ojo or Zuniga Pond with her class. Outside of school hours, Stephanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, going skiing in the winter, finding new places to hike around LA, birding, playing the drums, and taking her dog for long strolls around the neighborhood.
Educational Background: Stephanie has an Associate's Degree in General Sociology and obtained 18 units in Early Childhood Education at UCLA. She has also achieved Level 3 Certification from The Academy of Forest Kindergarten Teachers, and is Wilderness First Aid & CPR certified.
