The Power of Food as Medicine for Health & Wellbeing
Thursday, May 25th, 2017 @ Topanga Library
Hilary is passionate about food, nutrition and the connection between what we put into our bodies and overall health and wellbeing. As a devoted mother of five young kids, she has seen the power of nutritional healing firsthand. Her own experience of using "food as medicine" has inspired her to dedicate her career — as a cook, lifestyle coach, and professional educator — to helping others on their path to wellness.
Hilary is the founder of the lifestyle brand Live YumYum where she inspires others to prevent and reverse disease by embracing lifestyle choices conducive to overall health. From food as medicine to nature connection and the power of positive thought, she teaches people to turn inside for the answers. She is also the author of the best-selling cookbook, The Heal Your Gut Cookbook.
Hilary received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Virginia, is a certified holistic health counselor, and trained at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Hilary supports her clients by integrating "Paleo" and "Primal" philosophies with the wisdom of the Ancestral Health Movement and the Weston A. Price Foundation. Hilary is a Weston A. Price chapter leader, has run several local food co-ops, teaches cooking classes out of her house, and has helped to open a farm-to-table restaurant in Concord, MA. She credits her health to proper nutrition, positive thinking and her daily meditation practice.
